A Study of Traffic Emissions Based on Floating Car Data for Urban Scale Air Quality Applications

Urban air quality in cities is strongly influenced by road traffic emissions. Micro-scale models have often been used to evaluate the pollutant concentrations at scale of order meters for estimating citizen exposure. Nonetheless, retrieving emissions information with required spatial and temporal details still not an easy task. In this work, we use our modelling system PMSS (Parallel Micro Swift Spray) emission dataset based on Floating Car Data (FCD), containing hourly data a large number links within 1 × km2 domain city Rome month May 2013. The procedures obtain both database simulations are hosted CRESCO (Computational Centre Research Complex Systems)/ENEAGRID HPC facilities managed ENEA. possibility using such detailed emissions, coupled performance, represents desirable goal microscale modeling that can allow systems be employed quasi-real time nowcasting applications.
